I was told by an Orange rep in Paris that by summer 2017 EU countries would work together so that an Orange SIM card bought in Paris would work in Switzerland. Does anyone have info on whether this is true? If not, what is the best Swiss company for acquiring a data heavy SIM card?

I use Yallo.ch and have roamed on Orange France, so it's possible that if you had a roaming plan, it would work here. If you are looking for a low cost plan while in Swiss, it may be cheaper to purchase a Swiss SIM card, perhaps Yallo.ch or Salt.ch. You need to provide your address and a passport to purchase a prepaid SIM card in Swiss as you are responsible for the phone number.
