What sim and plan to buy?

I am traveling to Italy in October. I have a quad band unlocked cellphone. I want to purchase a sim card and plan in Rome that will give me cheap rates on phone calls back to the USA. Please give me suggestions that will give lots of specifics. I have been doing lots of internet surfing but I have been very frustrated by websites in Italian. I will be landing in Rome's international airport and lodging around Termini train station. Help!!!

John,

TIM would be a good choice, as they're the largest network in Italy. As I recall, there's a TIM store on the lower level of Termini station, one level down from the tracks. There's a large shopping area there.

To add more information about TIM Welcome, unless you already have a SIM card from TIM, the total cost is €30: €5 for the SIM, €20 for the plan, and €5 which covers texts (not included in the TIM Welcome package) or any more calls beyond the 200 minutes.
