Recommended on another travel site I use, whatshalfway (dot) com works in 45 countries and allows you to request restaurants, gas, accommodations, etc halfway between your destinations. Basic website, but that might be a good thing.
I didn't know about that one - I need something like that a lot. Thanks Maria
There is another one called 'meetways' dot com that someone uses regularly for France.
These are websites. There may be similar as apps. They might also work better on the 'big' picture rather than small towns; but for roadtrips, I expect we can figure out how to adapt to larger communities.
I like it Maria. The whatshalfway site was simple but sometimes that is all I need. Thanks for the post.
Thanks for posting! Using intermediate destinations is something I seem to do on a regular basis, so the website might save me some planning time.
Simply curious...What is the reason for posting a website as ‘XYZ dot com’ ? I’ve seen it before I believe. Thanks
Denny, I am not sure I can explain it well, and maybe it is an urban legend, but it is supposed to be a more secure (from web bots) way of providing a website rather than a link. However, it didn't stop the 'shoe' lady from finding the post... :-( Oh, I see she is gone (this morning's spam)
Besides, some folks here shy away from clicking active links. :-)
I wondered as much but understand so little about the whole internet bit. I guessed perhaps a security issue but couldn’t say why. Thanks for the reply. Take care all and stay healthy.
Thanks Denny. You too.
