Will be going to Portugal and Spain in a month and want to look for an iPhone App to do both travel itinerary planning and offline mapping. Ideally provide public transit map also. Read a lot of reviews on Citymap2Go, but haven't gotten must reviews on TripWolf. Which one of the two provides better assistance with offline mapping?
I like Google Trips. Free, & as far as I can tell, unlimited offline maps.
I set up a dummy gmail account to use it.
I have maps2go on the ipad, but i rarely use it.
I like using maps.me which allows me to download the map of the whole country as a single file all at one time, and use it off-line. it has been working well for me for over a year so i do not bother with testing other map apps
If I have access to wifi, i will use google maps because of all the extra details including streetview.
For me, a travel itinerary is more of a time management issue as opposed to a mapping issue, so i just use my calendar app, calengoo. I use dropbox to sync any tickets, bookings or documents onto my devices.
I second maps.me. I use it on both IOS and Android devices and it works just great in airplane mode. You must, however, download your maps before you leave or while you have WIFI if you plan to turn your cellular off.
