Travelling to London, Paris, & Dublin - what sim?

Hi,
I am leaving for London, Paris, and Dublin in 2 weeks. I am having trouble finding a SIM/ Carrier to work in my phone for the week. I really don't want to pay the intl roaming rates on my Canadian phone plan.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Buy a SIM card in whichever country you are going to be in first. It will work in all three countries because all three are in the EU, no roaming charges within the EU. Make sure you know how to top up the card via the internet.
The card will have a phone number from whichever country you buy it in.

I was just in London this past May. I stopped by the Vodafone shop in Paddington station and picked up a SIM card and plan. Β£20 for 6GB data and included some voice minutes and texts. Worked fine in London and Germany.

Another option in London is to go to a Carphone warehouse shop. They will carry a wider choice of carriers.

How did your Paris portion of the trip go? Were you able to use data? Which SIM did you get? I have just received a giffgaff card for our trip to UK, France/Belgium in a few days but have discovered that non-residents of the UK must still pay very small roaming charges while in EU with a British SIM. I will need to buy some airtime credits on top of the phone/text/data plan to cover any EU charges we incur.

Robin,

My Vodafone plan did not require additional fees to roam in other EU countries. Are you sure about the fee? Or perhaps it’s specific to giff gaff?

I picked up an O2 sim card and didn't have any issues on my wife's phone. I honestly can't tell you a out any other fees. We did use all of the $20 topoff we started with.

Thanks all for the advice!
