I am heading to Italy in 2 weeks and wonder if anyone can recommend a diary app? Something preferably that I can download later and make into a pdf or something similar?
I have the Tripit app for free. You can pay extra for notifications and other things but I don't. You can add all your notes, hotels, activities, photos, flights, museums and when you are on wifi you can see what resturants are near your sites and hotels. It is a cool app. But can you download it later I don't know anything about doing that.
You can print out your TripIt info.
Thanks Suki. Nice to know that.
I have used TripRider for six or seven years and really like it. I use it as a planner leading up to my trips, a diary/journal while I’m traveling, and then make & print a trip book when I’m back home. Have used it on iPhones and iPads both. No affiliation, just a very satisfied user.
I use the ‘Notes’ app on my iPhone.
I then send the notes to my email.
You also have the option to, print,
save to files, or create PDFs.
Enjoy your trip!
Terri,
Do you mean a travel app to help track flights and hotels, or a blog/diary app to record your experiences and activities and reactions and photos?
I find that after a week of dropping into random churches and cafes that I often don't remember which church had that that surprise Caravaggio or where the patient barista explained how to order a latte. The best I've done is take more pictures of signs and menus to help provide context. If you did indeed mean a blog/diary app, I look forward to hearing how others track their daily meanderings.
I think that the Day One app is what you are looking for. It is designed to be travel diary or log. When you make an entry it automatically records the location and weather. If you cannot connect to the internet it can go back later and determine what your location weather when you made the entry. Photos are easily incorporated. You can keep your diary on both your phone and your tablet and it will automatically merge the entries. I find that it works quite well. My only problem is finding enough energy at the end of the day to do an update.
