time conversion

Not a technology question- but can anyone tell me what time it is at 10:00 AM CEST in Rochester, NY EST (eastern central time zone - specifically on March 4th, 2025 ?

OR can anyone recommend a good time conversion app?

It's the S (summer) in CEST that is confusing me.

Requesting kind, helpful comments please!

I am not interested in negative comments about my confusion with the math - I am embarrassed enough already.

Thank You

On most cell phones, there is a World Clock function as part of the Clock. Just add the location, and you'll have the current time in that area. Hope this helps.

I use time and date for time conversions amongst other things. I picked Paris since it’s on Central European time. It’s 6 hours ahead of NY. So 4 AM on the US east coast would be 10 AM in Central Europe. A cursory google search indicates neither the US nor Europe would have moved to daylight savings or summer time so no further adjustments are needed.

Based on their previous posts, my guess is that the OP wants to buy tickets to the Anne Frank house. These tickets are released every Tuesday at 10 am local time in Amsterdam for the week that starts 5 weeks and 6 days later.
So on Tuesday March 4, the tickets for April 14-April 20 become available.
On March 4, there is a 6 hour time difference between Amsterdam and Rochester. So when it’s 10 am in Amsterdam it’s still only 4 am in Rochester NY. This means you’ll have to get up in the middle of the night to get your tickets here; https://www.annefrank.org/en/museum/tickets/

To answer more generally on time zones: I normally just use Google - just ask the question jn the search bar.

Since there is a week difference between when the US and Europe changes their clocks, I second Simon's answer. Just ask Google if you are not sure.

But for Mar 4, Europe is six hours ahead of Rochester.

It might be worth watching for Executive Orders from a new leader of a large country between now and then. I seem to remember one of their promises was to change the time so it didn't change after their reign.

Currently 6 hours but be aware of change.

just as EST means Eastern Standard Time and for the moment EDT means Eastern Daylight Savings Time, CET means Central European Time and CEST means Central Europe Summer Time. On our little island of Great Britain GMT means Greenwich Mean Time and BST means British Summer Time. BST and CEST change forward and back at the same time, along with much of the world. The USA and Canada have traditionally been a week off.

UTC = Coordinated Universal Time is like saying CE for Christian Era instead of AD for Anno Domini - literally Year of our Lord.

GMT is still the currency in the UK. Very rare here to see UTC.
