The world's worst travel photographer

Icelandair recently had a promotion to find the world's worst travel photographer. The goal was to see if Iceland's gorgeous scenery could stand up to even a terrible photographer. The winner, Blanche Montemard from Paris, won a 10-day trip to Iceland and $50,000, and will now spend some time photographing the scenery of Iceland. Hopefully she won't butcher it as much as she did in her photo of the Statue of Liberty, which is a silver blur in an even blurrier background.

In her profile, she states that her weakness is "photography," and her strength is "delusion." 😂 Her statement on winning?

For years, friends and family have asked why my photos always look disappointing. I’m thrilled to finally have an answer: I was training for this role. This project celebrates imperfection – probably the only photography competition I ever stood a chance of winning.

That's fantastic. I'd love to see her photo after her trip. I should have entered my 82 year old mother-in-law. She's a wonderful person, but her photography skills and ability to vet good photos from bad is not a strength. Just yesterday my wife and I took her to Walmart because she wanted to print her photos from the trip to London she took with us last November. We've only had moderate success convincing her to at least delete the ones from her phone that are no good, and only print a few. She was insistent that she wanted to print all 200+ including the ones that were blurry, pointed at the ground or when she somehow had her phone on a 'burst' function where 10-20 photos were taken in a row and wanted to print them all.

Allan, that made me laugh so hard! That is so funny! You definitely should have entered her in this contest.
