Does anyone have any experience using SYGIC while driving around Europe? It is highly reviewed but I have no experience with it and don't want to commit the $14.99 just yet.
Have you tried the free GPS apps like Waze and Google Maps?
What Andrew says. I drive a lot in Europe and sometimes in remote areas. Waze is my go-to App with Google Maps as a backup and both are FREE!!! One of the Maps benefits is that you can download maps for off-line use thorough it won't reflect current road/traffic conditions.
I used the SYGIC app to travel Spain, Andora, France, and Greece. It performed well, even on small roads on the island of Crete. Sygic knew where all the traffic cameras were in rural France. The only drawback is that you must switch maps when you cross borders. It saves foreign data charges, since you can download the maps on wifi.
If it knows where all the traffic cameras are in France then it is illegal. It is illegal in France to have any driving aid which shows speed cameras. If caught by the police it carries a substantial on the spot fine, loss of the device and possibly worse.
