I’m getting twice-a-day advertising from these 2 apps— irritating! The ads come as push “notifications.”
Can I turn off the notifications I don’t want, the daily ads, but still get the ones related to boarding or flight delays (Southwest) or where my driver is (Uber)?
Southwest - yes
These are Android instructions. Apple instructions may differ.
(Please let us know which phone type you have so that we can provide specific replies)
Open the Southwest app
Click "More" (lower right)
Scroll down to "General" section
Click Settings
Click Notification Preferences
"Trip Details & Updates" is a Required notification.
All other notifications are optional and can be turned off.
Thanks, that works for SW! Working thru the phone settings there's no way to screen type of notification. It's an iPhone but the directions are the same. Especially irritating about the Uber app is the ads are now in Spanish since I last used Uber in Mexico.
Actually the same process works via Uber more or less, there it's called "marketing preferences."
