Ricks Audio Tours/ Older Android

I would love to download the 3 walking audio tours of Amsterdam as we will be there in a week, but my android is too old. I looked into Sound Cloud that he recommends, but it looks like they charge you for it and I only need it for 2-3 hours . I don't have an MP3 player is there another work around?

Thanks so much for your help..

The tours are generic .mp3 files, so you should have no issues downloading the files
(if you hold your finger on the link for a few seconds, a menu should appear that allows
you to, amongst other things, download the file to your phone).

You can just hit the link and the file will start playing, but that will use cellular data if
you don't have wi-fi available.

If you download the file, any music player such as Musicolet will play it.

A little more detail on the issue you are experiencing will be helpful, and why you think
your android version is the culprit.

What version of android do you have on your phone? If it's old, I would be more worried
about security deficiencies and such from not getting updates and patches.

I have version 11 and it says I need 13 or higher per Rick Steves info on the website

That disclaimer is for the Rick Steves app. You can simply download the mp3 files
as static files and play them with any mp3 app/player. The accompanying maps
are static pdf files, you can download those and view them with any pdf viewer.

You are mixing up downloading of the files with the use of the app. The specific
app is not needed to simply play the audio tour file. I cannot speak to whether
there is any additional value to the app vs the static files (from a content perspective,
I suspect not. Maybe from an organizational view, yes, but if all you want is 3 files,
I'm pretty sure you can keep track of that).

Android 11 is 4 years old. As I mentioned before, you are at risk for security issues
as that version is no longer supported by Google.
