Hi..I have a sim chip that I bought at the Orange store about 5 mths ago. I am now returning to France and want to put that chip into my new cell phone. Does anyone know how to reload or prepay for Orange services from the US? I have heard there are kiosks in the airport, but I'd rather just have this dealt with ahead of time. What do business travelers do? Thanks...
Check out this link: http://boutique.orange.fr/mobile/carte-prepayee-orange-holiday-eng#Description
Note that it says you need a French credit card.
Also, the sim card may expire if it has been in active for too long. I tried to give my TIM sim to my friend who went to Italy about 3 months later and it no longer worked.
Thanks! I saw this link today. I may be out of luck as I don't have a french credit card. My chip is still within the number of months, so if I can't refill it online before I go at least I don't have to buy another chip.
Since I am unable to reload at the Orange Boutique online before I leave, does anyone know about reloading at ATMs, shops, or kiosks at CDG airport? How easy is it? What is the least hassle place to do this? Trying to avoid having to get to an Orange store. Merci..
You need to buy a "récharge" at a grocery store, Relay, Tabac, etc. Basically it looks like a credit card with different values printed on it - you take it to the counter and pay for it, then they give you a receipt that has a number printed on it, which you then enter into your phone.
Surprised there isn't a way to take care of all of this ahead of time, but slipping into a Relay is very easy to do. Thanks so much!
There are numerous Relay shops at CDG.
