I know that travelling with a carbon monoxide is a good idea, but does anybody think that have a radon detector while travelling makes sense since its a major cause of lung cancer. I have a radon detector for home, but I think I may start bringing it with me on travels.
Since lung cancer from radon exposure usually occurs from long term exposure, bringing a radon detector for a vacation seems a lot like overkill.
I travel a large amount for business and family vacation. Given the amount of deaths from radon per year, seems logical, or even just from a curiosity standpoint.
Then you do you, regardless of what the accuracy of single spot readings would be vs the standard recommendation of 30-90 day averages.
yes will do, just need a small radon detector, and always keep with me for real long term accumulation measurements, there are some small radon detectors on the market --- will give me a true exposure if I keep it with me, or in my work bag, so yea, thanks for the discussion, just brainstorming, thanks

Since you asked, no, it doesn't make sense. You would need to stay in the same location for years to have any radon affect your health. And you would need to test the same location for several months for accurate results. Read up on short term radon testing and false positives with travel radon detectors before you make a purchase.
Cheaper than I expected, I may just grab one and start monitoring the places I visit and my home for the fun of it, less than 100 bucks, for some reason i thought they were much more expensive.

Sounds like you have used a radon detector, do you have one? if so which one do you have?
