Power available for cell phone?

I haven't been on a plane for over 10 years. Do most planes now have a usb port to charge a phone or tablet? How about the buses that the tour uses? I plan on buying a power bank but I'm wondering if they are still needed.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Planes and buses usually do, but they don't always work. I always bring a power bank, too.

I would never assume that the plane power source is going to work or the plane entertainment system is going to work. That way you’re prepared When it doesn’t

I'll just reinforce what was said.....they may be there, but they may not work. Bring your own backup.

On our last trip to Europe, we did two RS tours, each with its own bus. One bus had usb ports; the other did not. No advance information was given.

I agree with the others that a power bank would be a really good idea as that way you'll have some backup power in the event that none is provided on the plane. I've found that power facilities on planes can vary depending on the specific aircraft being used, and power or audio ports may be working in some seats but not in others.

I typically only use my phone for part of the time on long flights, as I also spend some time napping, eating or whatever. If the phone is fully charged, that's always been adequate.

Thanks for all the replies. It will help me be prepared for the plane and bus rides.
