Orange Travel esim activation start date

Hi team, I'm in Australia and I've just purchased an eSim for my travel to Europe late next month. I've installed the esim on my phone and inputted the pin to activate. Can I confirm that my 28 day plan begins when I land into Europe and my phone first connects to the service network? I've read others say on this forum that this is the case and that the 28 days commences from when my phone first connects to the Orange network. However, I reached out to Orange and they replied with the following: We are sorry to inform you but the moment you type in your PIN code for the first time is the moment when the plan begins.
Unfortunately, we are unable to stop this process.

I'm now concern that my 28 days has started and will be wasted.

This sounds accurate. I bought a two week SIM about a week prior to going to Northern Ireland last month (on a ten day trip) and sure enough, my phone stopped working exactly two weeks from the purchase date, not the activation date, and I had to top it off to get through the final few days of my trip. It was an Orange eSIM. Lesson learned, ugh.

AbbyO, sorry to hear and that's what I'm afraid of. The plan really should kick off when it first connects to the network, not when it is purchased or activated with a pin.
