Offline Metro (Paris) App for iPhone

I have found one OFFLINE (no data service required) app for iPhone:

  • MertO by Kinevia (free)

Are there others?

NOTE: this is an OFFLINE app requiring no wifi or costly data plans to use.

I have the Presselite Paris metro app and most of the features (e.g. looking up a metro route) work offline. I've used it on several trips. It is easy to use.

Are you certain it works with no wifi or no data service?

The route planner definitely works in airplane mode. I just tried it to make sure.

There may be some features that use data, but I mostly used the route planner. I have a wifi only device and used it numerous times when wifi was not available. I've had this app since 2009 and have used it on 3 trips to Paris. It has been worth the 99 cents to me.

Thanks. I really appreciate your suggestion and feedback.
I just got an email reply from someone at Pressilite confirming offline performance. I was confused because (if I read it correctly) the product description doesn't mention "offline"

This forum is amazing - quick, complete and accurate feedback.

There is a cheap app called "All Metro and Subway" that gives you access to metro maps without accessing data. It does not provide schedules. This could be a compliment to the paper maps you get at metro stations or included on most Paris city maps (and in most guidebooks).

Jim,

I also use the Presselite Paris Metro app and it's always worked well. As I recall, some functions will work offline, but using it with at least Wi-Fi will provide more functionality. If I'm searching routes for the day, I generally do that at the hotel when I have Wi-Fi available.
