My phone is in contract with ATNT and need your help figuring out best Sim/Network option available for Europe. I am travelling to France, Netherlands, Italy and Switzerland. The only option i could see is ATNT passport, is there any better option available?
First find out if your iPhone is in fact locked. If so, then you can't buy a SIM and use it in Europe without getting it unlocked.
I have had some success unlocking Android phones by buying unlock codes on eBay, but I've never tried and iPhone, and I suspect it is more complicated.
Another option you might have: see if you can pay off your iPhone early with AT&T - then they should unlock it for you.
Read the Tech section of Travel Tips on this site to learn about using your Cell phone in Europe. Also read the PM I sent you.
I find when in Italy, TIM phone service was the best value. They changed the sim card and for 30 euro, I received 1000 minutes of in country, 750 minutes international and 2 gb data. When I was on the plane to return to the US, I swamped out the sim card and put my ATnT card back.
Thanks a lot for your quick detailed responses, i will check all these options and go with the suitable ones.
Thanks once again @Andrew, @Philip and @ Jeffery.
