Mobile Wifi in Italy

I want to rent a mobile wifi device for my travels through Italy and have found a few companies online.
Has anyone used Xcom global? or Witourist?
Looking for a personal experience before choosing a service.
Thanks!

You don't have a smartphone or tablet?

if you do, access wifi at hotels using it.

An unlocked phone with a Tim sim card. 30 days 4GB for 40 euro, unlimited texts to the U.S., unlimited phone in Italy. Tether the wifi feature and it becomes a hot spot for your tablet.

In Italy I used ExpressoWifi last month. Great service with unlimited data, great coverage (4G/LTE).

I have a wifi-only iPad and have used it for months at a time in Italy. I look for hotels that have wifi. Bars are a bonus, restaurants often have it but not always (fast food joints usually do).

So I had a similar issue for my trip to Italy and had a look to this topic a while ago: now that I'm, sadly, returning home, I want to share with you guys the solution with which I came up so that it can be useful to some of you :)

Before departing I also checked a service called ExpressoWifi (which was, in the end my choice) but before getting to that I preferred another option, a data SIM from an Italian carrier, for example. I found out that the only "good" option was offered by Vodafone (2GB at 10€/month) but I had to activate a new SIM card, so it would have been something about 30€ or higher. Neither Vodafone or TIM proposed me a tourist plan.

So I decided to rent an ExpressoWifi's 4G MiFi for about 5 days. It didn't cost me a lot: I paid 6€ per day and I could enjoy strong 4G signal everywhere and I could handle easily all my workflow.
Note that the areas covered by me were the residential areas of Rome and its city centre.

I hope this might be useful!
