Looking for an English to French dictionary That does not require being online

I will be carrying my iPad and would like to be able to translate without being online.

Read the reviews and sound like it either does not work on iPads or has limited functionality.

I know that for Android devices, you can download French into Google Translate. This takes up a bit of space in the memory, but you then don't need to be online. I don't know if Google Translate on Apple devices allows this, but you can try it now at home, since it's free.

You can download French into Google Translate on iOS and use offline (either iPad or iPhone). You will need to perform the download connected to the internet, but can do that at home before you leave or when you have access to WiFi.

Thanks, I googled how to make google translate off line and they gave me detailed instructions. Just need to test it when offline.

Off line Google translate works pretty well. I found the in camera translation feature especially valuable in grocery stores for reading French and Dutch food labels.
