Any recommendations for a light-weight, travel, blood pressure monitor?
Preferably one that weights 1/2 pound to less?
I have no personal experience with this product, but it seems to fit the category of light weight.
Omron has many options
Yes - Omron has many options but some get bad reviews and some are heavy for those traveling light; oner a pound. Need to keep weight down as we travel with no checked bags and with airlines with weight limits for carry-on.
We have a Nissei wrist-cuff monitor. It weighs 4.7 ounces and its case is 2 ounces (probably not needed). My recollection is that my husband bought this in Italy. His doctor here in the US insisted that he bring it in to be calibrated with a "real" blood pressure cuff and it was right on the nose.
Withings BPM Connect would be my product of choice because of the full FDA and international credentials, ease of use, and very cool app. The new model specs say it masses 250g.
50 x 65 x 155 mm (1.97 x 2.56 x 6.10 inches)
250 g
(My older 2nd generation Withings BPM is 460g)
I use an Omron monitor. It is a small unit worn on my wrist, weighs less than 3 ounces (80 grams), no dangling cords or extra parts. Model BP652. It had been tested by my doctor and its readings match what their large bulky monitor gives within +- 3mmHg.
