iPhone weather app question

I’ll be in Paris on Sunday. It says 70% chance of rain on the page it hits all days. When you click Sunday, it gives the Chance of precipitation on an hourly timeline scale. Most of the day it says 15%-35%. Does that mean there is a 65% chance of rain in a 30% area during that time, or vice versa?
Thanks

it means that for the place it is forecasting during the hour under discussion you have x percent chance of any precipitation, all the way from mist to storm. Look at the words accompanying the forecast for a better idea of the strength of any precipitation.

It will all depend on where the next low tracks and how quickly it moves past the UK and its trail passes northern France.

these lows all come from North America, often the remnants of tropical storms - so blame the Americans.

It mean that there is a 70% chance it will rain at some time during that 24-hour period. It could just be rain for a couple of minutes. The hour by hour forecast predicts the chance during that one hour period.

Thanks guys!

It’s tricky packing for that in-between weather, especially with some rain.

In Paris and England, especially after the start of Autumn when the fronts start barrelling in, always plan for rain.

Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised and the sun will come out - but summer is over for many

I got spoiled. We were there 2 years ago same time. Weather was warm and sunny each day. 80-85. Low humidity. Just lovely. Now we’re taking our 3 adult children for their first time. I’m really trying to be positive. But chilly and rainy was not what I had hoped for. Plus, we’re paying and it’s darn expensive. All I can do is set the mood, and I will. But inside I’m crying a bit.

Lulu, there are worse things in life than being in Paris when it's raining. You'll get some fantastic pictures of street scenes. There are so many wonderful museums, churches and monuments to visit. Step inside a cozy cafe or, if it's not too chilly, on the terrace under the awning. You'll have a wonderful trip!

Also, it is only Tuesday. The forecast could completely change by Sunday.

Thanks all! I know, I know. It’s Paris, not Indiana! But I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bother me. More so for the kids and their first time.

I wasn’t planning on packing pants and jeans, just summer dresses like last time, that hardly take up room in my suitcase. I’ll figure it out, and yes….forecast can change. There are also clothing stores there! At least that’s what I’ve heard, LOL.
