I've been playing around with the new Hyperlapse app released by Instagram last week. It's great at both creating easy time lapse videos and providing a pretty amazing amount of image stabilization. This video gives some examples of how you can use it during your travels and this video shows the effects of the image stabilization. Pretty cool! I can't wait to use it on my trip in a few weeks.

I saw that on TV yesterday and made a note to check it out when I have more time...whenever that is (sigh).
I'm all for the image stabilization - that looked fantastic! Nobody needs to see my shaky videos sped up without that :-(
The way they do it is to crop the outside of the photo and focus on the centre which moves less distance. The result is a drop in resolution but a nice creation.
Yes, it's definitely not the thing to use if you want to preserve your best-quality HD video, but for what it does, it does it well!
