I just got back from Portugal and was wondering if anyone else has had problems with google maps. I downloaded the maps ahead of time so that I could use them offline. However, they didn't work offline. When I tried to use them it indicated that the map was offline with limited information, and that I should use internet access. I have never had a problem before. Anyone have this issue?

Yes, I’ve only had good luck with how I want to use maps ONline. I just make sure to have enough data plan to use as needed now

Were you trying to get walking directions or driving directions? Google offline maps do not work for walking directions. They also don't give traffic and other real time info for driving directions, though they will still guide you for driving.

Diane, if it was walking directions you were needing, you might want to use Apple Maps next time. I’m pretty sure that their off-line maps include directions for walkers.
