It might be old news, but I noticed this morning that like you can choose satellite view, you can see covid numbers for the map area based on a 7 day average collected from several sources...and if numbers are increasing or decreasing.
Could be an interesting tool for even local travel or choosing a location when freer to travel further afield...of inclined to do so.
For others who've never done anything with layers on Google Maps, I've found that on my (Android) smartphone, I need to touch the horizontal diamond icon near the upper right of the Google satellite-view screen. That brings up some options, among which is the COVID layer. I don't see a way to access the information on my desktop computer.
Maria, thanks very much for the info. I just tried it for a few places and saw that I often had to zoom out as some places only showed regional/state/provincial numbers. But still very helpful.
MariaF, very informative for my road trip planning, thanks!
acraven, like you, I've been unable to find a way to display it using the browser version of Google Apps on my laptop. The app version of Google Maps isn't available to install on my laptop, only on mobile operating systems.
And with the west coast fires raging, I'd love to see an Air Quality Index layer. (Always wanting more, I know!)
I'm afraid that alphabet soup's post has nothing whatsoever to do with the thread. Webmaster alerted to the link. Tappen Zee toll amount?
