I just applied for Global Entry. I had to list every country I've been to in the last five years. So that was actually hard, not helped by passport stamps that aren't clear. I couldn't input Turkiye/Turkey. It wasn't on the list. Should I be concerned?
No. You will have an interview and if they actually have any questions, they can ask them then. Appointments can be hard to get. Interview upon entry is available in many major airports and seems the quickest way to have the interview.
While they do know everywhere you have been, forgetting one or two places, especially if not listed, isn't a big deal. They are really looking to see if you have been somewhere that needs further questioning.
As stated, if they have questions they will ask.
The first time I renewed my GE, I was required to do an interview. The agent asked me about my visit to the "Channel Islands." He had never heard of them.
This surprised me because I entered from and departed to the UK. There is no border check in either direction.
But they knew.
Jules, if you can't get an interview at MSP, schedule it at the Border crossing in Grand Portage. That's what I did and it was really easy. Maybe not so much for you but it was a lot quicker to do that than go any place else.
If you do, let me know and we could meet up in Duluth then drive up for your interview. Grand Portage State Park is right next door which would be fun to visit. It could be a fun outing!
Regarding scheduling interviews at airports. In Chicago for example, they seem to release appointments in batches. There will be nothing available for weeks and suddenly they release several weeks of time slots with hundreds of openings. Just keep monitoring the schedules after you receive your conditional approval.
Oooh, Jules. I'll second Mardee's suggestion for that meetup in Duluth, and then Grand Portage State Park after your interview. It's an interesting place, if you've not been there yet. Don't have to tell you, probably, but I just wouldn't do it real soon 'cause the forecast for the Far North - and much of the rest of MN - looks pretty nasty this week! 🥶
Hope all our RS friends in the North Star State hunker safely down for Turkey Day! 🦃
Thanks, for the suggestions, everyone! Sounds fun, Mardee. For folks that don't know, Grand Portage is the location of the highest waterfall in Minnesota.
@Kate, A field trip! And yes, I've already changed my plans for the day. Apparently the front is moving to the south, and we could get 4-8 inches. Need to get going and get my errands done/
