Favorite apps for Italy

What are your favorite apps to use in Italy? I will be traveling around for about 3 weeks, I generally rely on public transportation. I am both curious as to what people find helpful, as well as what I might be missing.

So far I have

  • lodging apps
  • airline apps
  • VPN app
  • WhatsApp
  • Trenitalia (to purchase tix)
  • Trenìt! (It is an easy to use app that I have used for planning)
  • Google Maps (With maps download for some of the areas we are visiting.)
  • Google Translate (with Italian downloaded)

Thanks!

Your list sounds good to me!
I was in Italy in September and used Google maps every day.
It was also useful for bus schedules.

Some cities use Citymapper, which is an excellent app.

Also, Trenit is great, as it gives you real time departure and arrival and delay times for trains.

I make sure to have the apps for my lodging, such as airBnB and booking.com

With Google translate, you can save key phrases in advance so you can use it offline if necessary.

WhatsApp is good too, as a lot of vacation rental hosts prefer it to communicate with you.

Your airline apps are needed, in case you have to change or rebook flights.
Perhaps add apps for whichever airports you are using too.

Also check the museums, churches and other sites you plan to visit and see if they have apps. I used one for the Milan Duomo and the Borghese. I didn’t particularly find the Duomo one terribly useful but did like the audio guide for the Borghese.

I do like the CityMapper app if they cover the places you are going to be.
