eSim for family

Has anyone heard about Tribies? Just came across them while researching eSIMs for an upcoming family trip.

They're doing something different - shared data pools across multiple devices. So instead of buying 4 separate eSIMs where some people run out and others have data left over, everyone draws from one pool.

Haven't tried them yet myself, but submitted form with trip details since they're running a promotion right now. Anyone have experience with them?

I haven’t tried Tribies myself yet, but the shared data pool idea sounds pretty cool especially for family trips. If you’re curious, I’d just double‑check what networks they connect to in the countries you’re visiting and how easy it is to top up if the group burns through data faster than expected. I’ve had trips where one person streamed way more than planned, so knowing you can add extra quickly is a lifesaver. I’m wondering though do you like the idea of everyone sharing one pool, or would you rather each person have their own plan so they can track their usage separately?

Hey JaehFab ,

we're leaving tomorrow morning so I ended up buying 15GB shared data from tribies. (3 eSIMs, 5 days validity - just a long weekend trip). One of our devices doesn't support eSIM so we'll have to use hotspot for that one anyway.

I paid only $15 via Stripe as I got a 25% discount, and I can top up in 3GB increments for $3 anytime.

I already installed the eSIMs by scanning the QR codes - no issues at all, I've done it before. I'll activate roaming when we arrive in Geneva.

They use Salt as nerwork provider, but I am not worried about coverage since we'll be mostly in Geneva or Lausanne anyway.

The shared pool idea is perfect for us - my wife and I use different amounts of data, so this way nobody gets stuck without data while the other person has GB sitting unused.

I haven’t used them yet either, the shared pool idea is pretty clever, especially for families where one person is streaming Spotify nonstop and another barely touches data. What caught my eye is that they let you manage the pool from one dashboard, so you can actually see who’s burning through the gigabytes. That’s not something most eSIM providers highlight, but it’s super handy.

We got back already from Geneva - everything worked great!

eSIMs activated immediately, no issues. Only problem was hotel wifi didn't work, so I had to top up an extra 6GB for $6.

I will definitely use them again for our skiing trip in February.

I looked at the link, and it seems you can't just buy an esim, you have to sign up to be one of only 50 positions available. And then they "analyze" your needs and recommend a plan for you. Seems like they are in the stage of flooding the media with posts about their "service". Kinda suspicious to me. And the OP has made one post, this one.
