Dual Jack adapter for flights

Years ago you had to either use the airlines headphones or have a 2 jack adapter for your own headphones. Is this still the case? I have a few dual adapters but don't want to pack them if I don't need to. Can I use my own headphones with out an adapter?
Thanks

Probably depends on the airline and the specific airplane. The last time I flew on Delta last year, their (free) headphones came in a little baggie that included the 2-jack adapter in the bag, but I didn't need the adapter on that particular plane (an Airbus something-or-another). I assume the 2-jack audio is being phased out but may exist on some older Delta planes, so it must be easier for Delta to have a one-size-fits-all set of headphones for passengers on all planes, where some people need the adapter.

The dual jack adaptors are not really that large or heavy, so it should not be a problem to pack one along "just in case". That way you have all the bases covered.

The answer is, there's no way to know for sure until you're comfortably seated on your flight. So if you have adapters, bring them.
