Can you start and end Verizon monthly international plan mid month?

Hi — when I sign up for the Verizon International plan for a month, does it have to start at the beginning of a month or can I specify dates (for example May 15-June 14)?

Does the Verizon International customer service line still exist for setting up the plan? If so, does anyone have that number?
Thanks!

You pick the start date.

I'll find the #, i just used it to 2 weeks ago from Prague.

Edit to add the international support #: 1-908-559-4899.

I've had to call them several different times (issue with my phone, not the cell service) and they've always been very easy to get ahold of and very helpful.

Sorry, i misread your question. I usually set it up on-line, but you can call them too if you prefer. For that, you would just call the regular customer service number (1-833-VERIZON). I actually did that last month, because i was having issues with the website, and it was all automated.

The last time I got the International plan, last October, I had it start the day I arrived in Paris which was on like the 3rd or 4th of the month. So no, it does not have to be all in one month. To me it's actually a 30-day plan, lol not a monthly one. I have also used a combo of the Monthly pass and the one that is by the day when I was traveling for more than 30 days. I have the Travel Pass (??is that the name?) on my phone so it kicks in automatically when I use my phone internationally if it's not during the Monthly plan dates.

Is that confusing?

P.S. I always schedule the plan to start a day before i leave home. I like getting the text message that the plan has started while I'm still at home. That way, if i don't get the text message, I can deal with it before my trip starts.

I think that's it. :-)

Oh, Carrie, that is a good idea. I have never had trouble with mine starting though but surely something to think about.

Can I ask if you have an iPhone or an Android and is it an older model?

Another thing to consider. If you're on one of their unlimited plans, you can temporarily upgrade to the "Unlimited Ultimate" and get international calling and texting included, then downgrade when you get back home. We did this before our last trip and there was no issue going back to the lower plan, but definitely double check this because it may vary based on your particular situation.

FWIW, Tmobile has a 30 day add-on for high speed data, except it's $50. It also can start on any day of the month. I believe AT&T is also that way. Good idea starting it just prior to the trip.

Regarding upgrading your plan for a month, be sure you can go back. My Tmobile plan is grandfathered as a less-expensive Magenta plan. If I switched to another plan for a month, I'm sure I would not be able to go back to my nice, $35 plan, it would be $45 or more/month.

I have an iphone 15 pro. In Portugal, March 2024, I stopped being able to make calls, but i could receive calls and everything else worked fine. Called Verizon and they did a bunch of trouble shooting. Was fine the next day. In Prague last month, one day I was off the 5G network and on some super slow network. Called Verizon and they did a bunch of trouble shooting. The next day, i was back on 5G. Bad luck maybe.

Thanks, Carrie. That is slightly distressing as I have a iPhone 14 and was not going to upgrade before I travel in July. Thinking....

Pam, here’s my unsolicited, non-expert advice. :-) My sister’s employer just upgraded her to an iPhone 14 . She had no issues with the 14 when my newer phone got kicked off 5G in Prague. If you’re happy with it, I would keep it another year or two. That being said, a newer phone will have a better camera if that is important to you.
