Brazilian Evisas

My husband and I applied for the new Brazilian Evisas online and we just checked to see the status of our application and it said, "Please upload pending documents." We had uploaded all the requests including passport, photos, etc. (including the controversial bank statement requirement, but we don't understand what we did "wrong" or why they are telling us to replace them. At first, our photos were over the MB size limit, but we "shrank" them but using a "hack" of email attachment photos in "small" but now I'm wondering if they're too small? Argghhh! They're making it so technically difficult. We have a "host letter" and all our forms. We paid the money...just don't know what to do next. The SF Consulate does NOT answer the phones or take walk-ins! Guess we'll have to pay a company. Any ideas? Thanks!

Try and enlarge the size of the photo using the same hack - I'm assuming the embassy gave you limitations on how large a size the photo can be? Then give it a day or two to see if works out. Also check if every type of doc they want has been uploaded. Sometimes, even if it doesn't apply to you, some sites don't want you to skip it or leave it blank - in which case upload a sheet of paper saying Not Applicable or similar and see if you can get around the ask for additional docs.

Also, do a google search - assuming others have faced the same issues and they may have a workaround. Also, check out TripAdvisor forum and post your question there. You may have better luck

Wow. My trip to Brazil was earlier this year before the upcoming visa requirement. However, I successfully applied for visas to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia for 2024.

From reading the TA forums, it looks like there are lots of teething problems with the new evisa system - assuming it will eventually work out but lots of frustration in the meantime.

Thanks everybody who so quickly jumped in and gave me some information about the Brazilian visas. I just got off the phone with a company in San Francisco who said that a lot of people are having issues with the new electronic Visa. He had heard that supposedly after the first of the year, there will be an update and suggested that we do nothing until that time. it seems to be a third-party company that the Brazilian government outsourced this program to. Of course they took our money so I hope that we get something before we leave in late January. Our goal isn’t carnival but rather seeing friends, but I’m sure they’re going to be a lot of disappointed , people if they can’t figure this out! Thanks again.
