I'll be travelling to Germany, Italy and France in June. I have an unlocked Nexus 5 cell phone. What is the best sim card to buy that I can use in all 3 countries? We are starting our trip at the Frankfurt airport and heading directly to the Rhine Valley after we land. I'm guessing it's probably best to buy a sim card at the airport before we leave for the Rhine.
To avoid switching cards going from country to country, I'd suggest signing up with T-Mobile before you leave for Europe. I've used this on a France - Spain - Portugal trip and it worked seamlessly crossing borders. Prices start at $50 a month for 2 mb data, unlimited texting and 20¢ per minute for in or outgoing calls. I'm going to Italy and France in September and will be doing the same this time.
Thanks Philip, sorry I should also mention I'm from Canada. I don't think T-mobile is an option for me.
The fact that you're from Canada clarifies the situation. Are you currently using the Nexus phone with one of the networks here? It may be just as easy to use roaming with your home cell network.
I'm with Rogers, Im considering using one of their travel plans. But for the month it would cost 95$ and only give me 500 MB of data.
