Best SIM and Cell Coverage for Scotland

Traveling all over Scotland in July with my unlocked US iPhone. Can someone recommend which carrier/SIM has the best coverage throughout the country? We'll mostly be using for data (gps), a few texts and a few phone calls within Scotland. Thanks!

I think EE have the biggest geographic spread, rather than % of population covered but it's only couple of decimal points .So really it's a toss up between any suppliers.Even the tiny operators piggyback the BIG three providers infrastructure

I used 3 (three) in England and Ireland last year internet speed and coverage was very good. In 2013 I visited England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland, as far north as the Orkney Islands, and again, speed and coverage with 3 was good. I can't remember not having internet on that trip. The deal cost £20 or so for the month, and included unlimited downloads, and a call package, but I only needed/used the internet.

Further to my last - there are Navigation apps you can download from ITunes for you iPhone that will enable you to use your iPhone like a SatNav without having to use your internet data, or require a internet signal.

I appreciate that you say you will be going all over, but perhaps you actually will be going to specific places linked together.

If so, if you know which those specific places are, you can check each of the big three networks' websites and look at their coverage map. All of them will have rural "notspots" and all of them will have reasonable urban coverage.

They are 3, Vodafone, EE, and O2.
