Has anyone had experience with the actual real time translation apps? The kind you talk into and it translates and speaks your words into Italian. Thank you
I use Google translate frequently, not necessarily for travel, but in the classroom when substitute teaching. I can select the Language (Italian in your case), speak or text what I need to say, and it will translate it and write it out as well as say it audibly. The other person can do the same in reverse.
I have mostly been using it for Ukranian and Russian lately......
I have used Google Translate for many languages including Italian, Japanese, etc. There is an option to obtain the spoken words.
I use Google Translate, but I just got this month's issue of Consumer Report, and it mentions iTranslate Converse, which provides real-time translation in more than 30 languages. I have not used it but I think CR is trustworthy, so it might be worth looking into that.
