Apple Watch Security

Are pickpockets stealing Apple Watches?
How should I secure my watch.
I use it more than my phone.
Maybe carry an older Apple watch. change the access code?
Any tips
Thanks

I have not heard that Apple watches are a special target. After all, it is securely attached to your wrist. How is a pick pocket going to remove it without it being a mugging? Muggings are rare as the PPs like to be sneaky so that you don't know something is missing until much later. That would be very low on my concern list.

I've been wearing my Apple watch to Europe since 2018 and have never had a problem. As Frank said, it's hard to steal something that is attached to your wrist. If you're worried about it, maybe get a wristband that is elastic with no clasp - I suppose that might make it more difficult to pull off. But really, I don't think you need to worry about it.

I use my Apple watch for most transactions, including the 2 weeks we were in the UK in June. I'm partial to the Sports Loop bands for my Apple watch as the nylon band and Velcro closures give it a very secure fit. I've never worried that it would fall off my wrist or be snagged by a thief.

I appreciate the answers. I was just wondering. I read a thread where a thief went after a mechanical watch. And I thought about my Apple Watch.

Well maybe the take away from that thread is to leave your flashy Rolex or Patek Philippe at home with the rest of your expensive jewelery. An apple watch? Not so much.
