I’m in England right now and I thought I had my charging needs covered with (in order from wall) RS adapter, Apple charger, USBC-to-USBC cable. But the Apple charger persistently falls out of the adapter. We’ve tried jury-rigging all kinds of supports but the charger is just too heavy. Has anyone found a solution? Thanks.

Head to a Target type store or tech store and buy the piece that replaces both the Apple block & adapter. My husband purchased one for me a few years ago, and I bought a second this year. They work so much nicer than the two pieces.

Just get a usb-c to UK adapter. You should be able to find one at any electonics shop or place that sells phones. They might even have them at Boots or larger grocery stores.
If you are in a hotel, ask the front desk where you can buy one nearby. They might even have a spare left by a guest.

Agree with the above, you can get a USB C adapter with UK plug just about anywhere, Petrol (gas) stations, supermarkets, pharmacies, convenience stores, etc

I have this problem also and I second the purchase of an adaptor described by others, but on my last trip I used a hair band (or a rubber band) to hold the block to the adaptor because it’s what I had.

Just buy a better travel adapter. Plenty of travel adapters have a 20w USB-c port now, plus some other USB ports and a AC outlet that you can plug a US charger into. If you literally just have a UK to US AC outlet adapter, that's pretty inadequate in 2026. I bought a really nice compact travel adapter on Amazon with US, UK, and EU, 20w charging, all of that and it was less than $25.

My hotel in Glasgow had adapters for sale, when I forgot one. They also sold chargers. However, this was at the airport.

If you are at a hotel, ask reception where you can buy either a USB-C charger or a US to UK adapter. They might even have an extra one you can use or they sell them.
I had the same problem with the RS UK adapter. I now carry a multi USB plug international adapter for the UK, EU, US, and places beyond.
If you tell us where you are in England we might be able to suggest exact places.

A couple of suggestions come to mind......
- I normally travel with a small roll of Duct Tape. It has been quite useful on a couple of occasions in the past. The RS UK Plug Adapter is fairly large so there should be lots of room there to apply the tape. The Apple Charger is very light so even a small piece of tape should suffice.
- As suggested in a previous reply, a rubber band should work also. That's probably the easiest solution.
I would caution against buying inexpensive chargers made by less reliable manufacturers, as some of them are very poorly made and can damage your phone. I've done some research on the subject, and some switch mode chargers have poor designs and cheap construction, in order to maximize profits (the same situation exists with some LiIon batteries). A failure in these chargers can deliver high voltage to whatever device they're charging. Although Apple and other large companies also manufacture chargers in other countries, the designs and quality control are much tighter.
