Anker PowerCore 10000 Power Bank Recall

Today I got an email from Amazon alerting me about a safety recall of the Anker PowerCore 10000, model A1263. I'm sharing the news here for any other forum members who own this power bank.

According to the recall announcement from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall applies only to this model and to those power banks sold online at Anker, Amazon, Newegg, and Ebay from June 2016 through December 2022. Details here:

I purchased this model in October 2023, but proceeded to the Anker site to find out for certain whether I was in the clear. As soon as I typed in the serial number of my power bank, a message appeared in red directly below that field, saying, "The SN you entered is not part of the affected batch. Your product is safe to use."

If your unit is one of the affected ones, Anker will send you your choice of a replacement model or a $30 gift card for their website.

Thank you so much for posting. I have an Anker 10,000 and *think’ I got it in 2023 but I’ll check the # to see.

I got the email also. I bought mine March 2021. I went to the Anker site and got the "The SN you entered is not part of the affected batch. Your product is safe to use." message. I guess not all of them in the time frame are part of the recall.

I received the same email from Amazon. Luckily, mine isn't part of the recall either.

Thanks for posting this. Neither of my Anker chargers is included in the recall, and I didn't receive an email. But I checked because I've experienced the overheating.

I was using a different model Anker charger. It became seriously hot in my purse. At first I thought I needed to protect it from the sun. It became clear the sun had little to do with it.

Anker replaced it as soon as I contacted them.

I have 2 Anker power banks. The one I inherited from my sister is the one being recalled. Thanks for spreading the word on this danger. I still love Anker power banks though. The recalled one will go to the next electronic recycling event in my village.
