Agoda : money deducted from CC before check in

Hi I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this.

I've booked 2 different hotels under agoda. I have 2 questions

  1. 2 e mail was sent to me after I booked the hotels, one for each hotel. In one of the hotel, the hotel voucher was attached to the e mail in PDF format to be given to the hotel. In another e mail, there's no voucher attached. It's just confirmation of my booking with booking number and check in and out time. I'm just curious why one has a voucher one hasn't when I have paid for both.

  2. In the confirmation that I printed out from the e mail, it states "payment to be collected at the property" which means that payment will be made when I check in. But apparently before I even check in, money was already deducted from my credit card ( 1-2 days after the booking). Can someone help me to clarify??

This is my first time using agoda. Thanks

Sounds like an issue to be taken up with Agoda. I've used them a couple of time to book hotels in Mexico. The money was collected from my credit card at time of booking, and I took the voucher with me to the hotel to checkin. no problems.

I made a reservation in The Netherlands through Priceline.com name your own price. It turned out Priceline uses Agoda. My cost was deducted at purchase, but I had expected this.

It's the whole amount taken. I hope the hotel doesn't ask for payment.

I booked with Hotels.com and Booking.com for an upcoming trip and I noticed two of the hotels charged the full amount to my credit card, so I think this is common. I took screengrabs of my credit card statements showing it was already charged and saved it on my phone just in case the hotels try to collect more money from me on site.

There might be one other factor in play. Does the hotel have a fee in addition to the those charged by the booking agency? My hotel nights are prepaid, but my confirmation states that I will need to pay another $22 euro hotel fee upon check-in.

Hi Carol

No there's no prepaid fees. I just hope the hotel won't collect from me the money on check in
