We will be in both Luzern and Interlaken. I am trying to determine which mountain I should put on our "must see list" if we can only get to one in each town. I am struggling with finalizing our plans for our mountain visit day in each location and would appreciate feedback and ideas. We are 71, travel well, we will have a Swiss Pass if that helps. I do not want to push and regret not slowing down and enjoying each area. Thank you in advance for your advice. r and d

My question would be - which two? I see from the above that you have been studying this for awhile.
The weather will dictate, so stay flexible. These decisions are usually made the night before.
Rigi and Stanserhorn are fully covered by the STP. Pilatus is only discounted. Any summit on a clear day is memorable.
Enjoy this spectacular country. Have a great trip.
The STP covers some mountains 100% that are good choices for no cost. Look at the weather forecast and see what mountain is clear. www.meteoswiss.ch. Also, get the links to the web cams for the mountains of interest.
Whether you see Rigi or Pilatus make sure to include a boat ride in the trip. I enjoyed the complete trip of the cable car from Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch, back down to Lauterbrunnen. Viewing the Aletsch Glacier and mountains around Kleine Scheidegg was something to soak in for several minutes. All these mountains are an easy day trips.
