First time visitors to Europe. We are going the middle of September and plan on spending 14 days total with the bulk in Northern Italy. We have the Italy portion of our trip all booked. However, we want to finish up our trip with 3 nights in Switzerland. We will be leaving from Milan and making our way to Zurich where we'll fly home.
I'm not sure if it's even possible, but would love to travel (at least part of the way) along the Bernina/Glacier Express routes to get those picturesque views, and ideally stay/visit some small and beautiful high elevation towns similar to Wengen, Gimmelwald, Murren, etc..
Any input/advice on train routes to travel and places to stay would be greatly appreciated. One thing to note, we can't extend our timeframe any. Thanks!
