Nice BBC article on this historic hotel and restaurant. I hope to figure out a way to overnight here sometime, although our 2025 trip will be to the Dolomites instead of Switzerland.

The first time on a train from St. Moritz to Tirano—when the train stopped at Alp Grum I was so entranced by the incredible scenery —I got off the train and just started walking toward the turquoise lake below the station.
Hiking there is just awesome.

I dud a day trip on the Bernina route from Varenna a few days ago. Alp Grum was one of the stops where a number of people, some with hiking poles, got on or off. It would be easy to overnight there or a nearby town.
