If anyone has visited Switzerland end of May. How was the weather. We will be travelling for 12 days and arrive/return from Zurich. Planning to goto Lucerne, Interlaken-Jungfrau region and Zermatt/Montreux. I have questions:
Apart from Lucerne, Jungfrau region where can we go for 1.5 day trip? Zermatt or Montreux? Please suggest a easy day trip from Zurich.
We have 1 day Zurich, 2 days Lucerne, 6 days Interlaken-Jungfrau region. 2 days we can spend in another city because last day I want to keep it to reach Zurich when travelling back.
We are a family of me, my husband and a 4 years old. No hiking plan
Thanks!
Weather is easily researched on the internet.
Weather in the mountains is highly variable, especially in spring. This year, there were several posts by people who were in the Jungfrau region ( Berner Oberland) in late May, and were very disappointed that the forecasts were for lots of rain. It turned out to be not as bad as the forecasts predicted, but you should be prepared for all kinds of weather.
I really liked Sprungli when I was there last year. I forget what we had for lunch, but can't forget the delicious dessert waffles. And of course, you can stock up on chocolate when you are there.

In my 2 recent trips, most of the outlets needed the type C adapters. I think it was one of my older hotels where the type J would have worked too.
This is the one I take and it works fine:

I was just in Switzerland earlier this month (Montreux, Wengen and Lucerne). I had a good mix of weather—some hot days, some light rain, some cool mornings. I’d suggest packing some short sleeve shirts, some long sleeve, a rain coat and then either a heavy fleece or puffer-type coat. I don’t wear shorts but took along come capris that I did wear in addition to my long pants.
When I landed in Zurich, I took the train to Montreux for 5 nights. I’m not sure I’d go there for just 2 days. I think I’d add that extra time you have to Lucerne as there’s plenty to do there.
