Swiss Travel Pass

I’ll be in Switzerland for 3 nights in June. The cost of our train tickets while there is $538 for two people. The cost of a 3 day travel pass for two people is 605. And we’re doing two mountain excursions. I’m assuming it’s more economical to purchase the travel passes.
1). How soon should I get my pass and is it refundable if I have to cancel my trip?
2). When I went on the. SBB train site, I don’t see anywhere that I enter my travel pass to get tickets at no cost. Can someone help please? Thank you so much.

Your pricing is probably off because SBB defaults to half fare card pricing, so you have to double every price.

Don’t buy your pas in advance, just get it the day before travel. It’s not refundable and there is no advantage to buying in advance.

Your pass IS your ticket, you don’t get an additional ticket, that’s the point of the pass. When they check for tickets you show your pass. If it’s a location where your pass only gives a discount, then talk to a person at the counter to have them help you get the correct ticket.

If you have bought a Swiss Travel Pass, that is your ticket. You don't need to even think about buying tickets, you just show your STP QR code to the conductor, and you're good. The SBB app is great for figuring out what trains/busses/boats to take, though.
