Schilthorn revolving restaurant

We will be there on July 8 on our RS Best of Germany, Austria & Switzerland tour, and we are asking if we need to make reservations at the rolving restaurant for lunch?

You don't need to. We didn't. Wouldn't hurt to call up the day up or day before, once you know if the weather is going to be clear at the top.

I’m following these replies…have the same question, going on the GAS tour later in July.
And, reneboaglio, would love to hear any recommendations you might have after your trip.

The Schilthorn is best known for its views. Definitely do not go there just to sit at a lunch table because the food is rather mediocre and quite expensive.

The Schilthornbahn station in Murren is also under major reconstruction with large areas of missing pavement which now has gravel and mud. There were also lots of people in Mürren last week mostly day trippers who come up on the train and then go back down on the gondola to Stechelberg.

Yeah I don't recommend having a full meal there, but the cappuccino is cool because they stencil 007 in the foam. Don't forget to check out the fun restrooms. 😉

I had the breakfast buffet in 2021 and loved it, especially the mini waffles.

I went for bfast in mid- June and there was plenty of seating and an average (not bad!) meal. Worth it if you think it is, I did. If you want certainty, book it.
