Just received this response from Hotel Bellevue:
For your information, the hotel Bellevue is currently undergoing renovation and will reopen under the name Hotel Drei Berge on the 1st of June.
The reservations for summer 2024 are not open yet but should be accessible starting end of this summer.

The new website is "under construction" but it shows a picture of the new exterior.
The new name makes me think new owners. Guess we'll see.
I'll miss Ruth, who I assumed was the owner. Great communication, gave a discount for direct booking, and just a great personality. I assume she retired.
Stayed there twice, including last June. Had great conversations with both Ruth and Oti, and always got great information on hikes in the area. Also was told by Oti that one does not eat fondue in the summer. Hope they stay on to run the hotel if it is under new management, but if they have sold and retired, it is well deserved.

Looks like next summer is not open yet for reservations. I won’t stay here until I see what the reviews are like with what I assume is new ownership. Guess it will have to be Wengen again next year for me. Oh darn!! 😊
Carrie, yes, the room descriptions are not very detailed. Most rooms did have a balcony when I was last there, but no mention of balconies and view directions.
Guided by misplaced frugality, I didn't choose a corner balcony room with a view of the three famous peaks, and I've always regretted it.
I hope the new management keeps the warm feel and reasonable ( Swiss-wise) prices.
Looks like there are plenty of rooms available in June, July and August for anyone needing a room to book for this summer right now. I would hurry, probably won't last long since they just reopened on June 1.
Standard is 250CHF, Superior 300CHF. Don't know how that compared in the past or how competitive it is in Murren. Nice, clean website.

That makes so much sense now. I was just in Murren and in my RS Switzerland guide it said where to get laundry tokens and, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't find the word "Bellevue" anywhere. Still, I eventually found the bar but, for sure, at the beginning of the month, there was a flurry of activity with workers painting and changing things up.
Our party of 10 has reservations there in 2 weeks so I have been communicating with them. They made a reservation for dinner our first night there and just confirmed our reservation beginning July 4th. Their responses have been very kind and timely. This is our whole family, 4 grandkids with their parents and us. My husband and I stayed at this hotel 14 years ago and he wanted to return there with our family for his 80th birthday. I will update this post when we return.
Rosemarie, have you been communicating with Ruth? Was wondering if she's still there, or retired. Also, did you get an RS or mufti-day discount - seems the prices have gone up with the name change. Enjoy this beautiful area!
I have a reservation for September, and sent a communication to Ruth yesterday concerning the booking. The reply came from Yasmina Abdelilah, from the booking@ dreibergehotel.ch email, and was clear and prompt. Hopefully the stay there will be as delightful under the new ownership as it was with Ruth & Oti.
I have reservations for late September so I will be greatly interested in what earlier visitors have to say about the remodeling and the food. I kinda like the quaint decor it had before.
