Recommendations on town/village in Berner Oberland to stay at for 4 nights. Family of four (18 and 20 year old boys). We've never been to Switzerland so any advice we would appreciate. Thanks!
My first choice would be Muerren.
My second choice would be Wengen.
If you peruse these forums you'll see that Murren has extensive construction happening on the Schilthorn cable car and also construction at the train station (which I think is wrapping up). I would take this into consideration during your planning.
Here is the post referencing construction.
We loved Murren and highly recommend Hotel Alpenblick - it has two-room suites which suit a family nicely and it’s at the non-Schilthorn end of town which is the major construction area.
This year or next year? Finding available lodging will be tight in the area for the rest of this year. Good luck!
i would stay in Wengen, especially with all the Murren construction mentioned. But even without the construction, I'm a big Wengen fan!!
You might be limited by availability. Lauterbrunnen is not a bad option either.
