Looking for hotel within walking dsitance to Basel train station.

The Ibis is just a couple of minutes out the back door of the SBB station, and on 2 or 3 tram lines
I enjoyed being there...
An important question is if you mean the Basel SBB station across the street from the tram and bus station, or the Basel Bad station close to the convention centre?

I haven’t stayed at that exact hotel, but I’ve spent a few days in Basel and really enjoyed it. The city is compact and easy to walk, and being near the train station or old town made getting around simple. For hotels, location first is key — close to transit or the Rhine really helped us make the most of the trip.
