Volvo Overseas Delivery and GPS

I was searching through the postings related to Volvo OSD, and came across the question posted by lorenzenc on 07/04/18. I emailed Volvo about it, and they said that you can request the European maps be installed in your vehicle if you are returning the car back to the Gothenburg delivery center so they can change the software back to the US maps before shipping your car home. But if you are returning your car to another country for shipping , your retailer may charge you to download the software to remove the European system. Thought this would be helpful to have documented in the forum. Happy travels!

That could help with overall itinerary planning. So I wonder what a Volvo dealership would charge, and whoever does the change, is it a 5 minute process, a half hour, or much longer than that for the customer?

You can also ask owner of this thread: kamelo37. Think she picked up her new Volvo for a round trip in Norway and returned it to Gothenburg for shipment to USA.
