Tangier

The tour guide Aziz Begdouri in the RS's Tangier show is he still giving private guides of Tangier, I didn't see his name in the RS's book on Spain?

We (4 women) are also planning a day in Tangier and plan on hiring a guide. I'll wait for recommendations.
Thanks

Karen,
South Ole Spain Tours offers day trips with an official guide to Tangier.

I have not taken their Tangier trip (as we visited Marrakech on our own), but we did use South Ole Spain Tours for a private driver to take us from Granada to Ronda/Gibraltar/Marbella. Emily, who owns South Ole Spain Tours is an American who fell in love with Spain, so she now lives there and started her own company.

Her follow-up and attention to detail is wonderful.

Our driver was fabulous, the vehicle clean and nice, and the private guide she arranged for us was top-notch in every way. And, she was reasonably priced for the personal, customized service we received.

In fact, the driver was the one who mentioned to us that they now offer tours to Tangier.

Check out her company on Trip Advisor, where you will find others have been extremely pleased, too.

Hi Karen! I just did a tour with Aziz two days ago! Did the Gran Tour with a newlywed couple. Awesome for 35!euros. You can do cheaper huge group tours but it was well worth it. His driver picked me up at the exit of the port and drove me to La Maison Blanche the hotel Aziz and his wife own. It's gorgeous at the top of the Kasbah...there is even a Rick Steves room! From there I met up with our small group of 3 and Aziz showed us many sights in Tangier without the tour groups! Aziz can be reached at [email protected] or cell is 00 212 661639332. To top it all off, the 6 pm ferry got cancelled so I was invited to his home and enjoyed a family dinner! He makes sure you get on the ferry and doesn't just drop you off at the port. I have made a lifelong friend. Fiona

My husband and I contacted a few of the guides recommended by Rick Steve for Tangier. A wonderful guide named Abdellatif "Latif" was the first to respond to us and I am SO glad he did! Latif made our ferry reservation, met us at the ferry terminal in Tangiers and then the day of fun and site seeing began! We toured the new part of the City first, rode a camel, had a fabulous traditional Morrocon lunch, and the walked through the "Old City" of Medina and Kasbah. We went into a few shops because we wanted to, he had excellent recommendations.

Latif was extremely knowledgeable, charming, spoke very good English. I would highly recommend not only a trip to Tangier, but call Latfi!
