Question about Prado ticket already purchased & printed out

I recently bought a Prado ticket for entry in a few weeks, printed it out, at no time in the online purchase process was I asked to specify an entry time (I have a date but no entry time).

Now I'm reading that Prado tickets have an entry time. Again, I completed the credit card advance purchase process and printed it out, with a date but no entry time.

I don't want to get there only to be turned away because there is no entry time.

I have not found on the Prado website a place to ask them questions.

Am I ok? Any suggestions?

Hi, Kent. I remember a couple of similar discussions last year (I think one was a private message to me) where we determined that you are skipping a possibly significant ticket-buying line but don't need a timed entry unless there's a special exhibit. See toward the bottom of https://www.museodelprado.es/en/visit-the-museum where it says, "This ticket allows the holder to visit the museum collection and temporary exhibitions on the same day. In case of temporary exhibitions with controlled visitor capacity, it is necessary to acquire the pertinent time pass." Also, groups require reservations.

Laura, thank you. You were the Travel Consultant who last year consulted with us on our trip to The Netherlands and Belgium, you gave excellent advice on train travel and other details that helped make it a great trip!

Regarding my Prado question, after I posted the original question, I also found a Prado email address that I used to ask them the same question, just today so I haven't heard from them yet.

When I went to the Prado several years ago the only timed-ticket I received was for a special exhibit. Otherwise I believe you can come in at will. So if you wanted to see the special exhibit regarding 200 yrs of the Prado, you would need to choose a time. Otherwise, you just show up.

Kent,

As far as I know, you don’t need an entry time. Your ticket is valid all day.

You may want to refer to this recent post with other pertinent information.

Enjoy your trip!

Just to close this question, I got an email response from the Prado today saying exactly what the other 3 repliers so helpfully answered. Again, thanks to those repliers!
