Seeking recommendation for hotel stay (single traveler) in Seville and Barcelona for mid September. Thank you very much!
Several years ago my mom and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Amadeus and Hotel Fernando III
You may also want to read Jean’s Trip Report where she recommends a hotel she has stayed at on 2 separate trips.
You may also find many other recommendations by doing a search on this website.
Here are some posts about Sevilla hotels.
Enjoy your trip!
In Barcelona, highly recommend Catalonia Magdalenes Hotel (https://www.cataloniahotels.com/en/hotel/catalonia-magdalenes?mb=1). Located on a quiet street within the Gothic Quarter, ideal proximity for short walks to many sites without all the noise (and crowds) found nearer Ramblas options. Friendly staff and great breakfasts, the property sits atop roman ruins (visible beneath the lobby's floor). We stayed there for a week last year, and will gladly stay there again when we go back.
Highly recommend:
Seville - H10 Casa de la Plata
Barcelona - Hotel Praktik Rambla
I love everything about the Amadeus in Sevilla. In Barcelona on my last visit, I booked HCC Montblanc. I checked in, the room was very nice, then I went out for lunch and broke my leg, so I never actually slept there. The staff were extremely helpful and I would certainly consider staying there next time I get to Barcelona.
Always good to give a general price range if asking for hotel suggestions.
I spent a week at Sevilla's Palacio Don Ramon last March; fantastic hotel, sister of their Palacio Maria Luisa in Jerez, where I've had two excellent stays of a few days each. (Kaizen group)
Both stays were as a single traveler.
I thought that the Hotel Amadeus in Seville was overpriced and overrated. When I was there, a RS tour group was staying there.
In Barcelona we liked Hotel Well and Come which is a boutique hotel and within walking distance to La Sagrada Familia.
We really like the El Rey Moro in Seville. Great location, nice room, tasty breakfast, and pretty interior.
In Barcelona, didn't love our hotel but liked the location. Working on picking a better option for our next visit there (planned for next May).
Another hotel I stayed at, for a week, a few years ago, is the MERCER. I was a single. Their breakfast is fantastic; they serve it to you at your table, anything you order, and the cava is free, not only at breakfast but throughout the day; There is a bottle in an ice bucket in the lobby and you can help yourself any time.
Rooms are not large but it's a lovely, small hotel in a perfect location in the Arenal. NOT in touristy Santa Cruz.
They arranged my ride to Cadiz and put it on my bill. They have a rooftop, small pool and are offering 25% discount for stays in summer.

The Don Ramon is a step up, but the Mercer is also lovely..both are small boutique hotels inn great locations. (Don Ramon is near Parasol/Las Setas and across the street from El Corte Ingles).
Again, you should give us an idea of the price range so we will not clutter this thread with suggestions that would not be appropriate for you.
